2016 Knit-Along Blanket Squares
For 2016, we’re going to try something a bit different for our KAL & CAL.
Every other month, we’ll have a knit 12" square and a crochet 12" square for you to make. At the end of the year you will have 6 squares for an approximate 24" by 36" blanket, or make 2 of each square (or both the knit and crochet) and have an approximate 36" by 48" blanket. Only have time to make 1 square, turn it into a pillow!
Throughout the year, we’ll have workshops to help you finish your squares and blankets.
2016 Knit-a-long Patterns
January/February - Prairie Afghan - Square 15 by Darlene Swaim
March/April - August 2013 Knit-A-Long 12" block: Granit Relief Stitch by Waco Knitters
May/June - Prairie Afghan - Square 9, multi-color version and Prairie Afghan - Square 9, one color version by Darlene Swaim
July/August - If you are familiar with lace, then you may enjoy the Leaf Lace Washcloth. If you are just starting out with lace patterns, then you may want to try out the July 2013 Knit-a-Long Square.
September/October - Next we are moving on to cables and I have 2 squares for you to choose from. The first is the Banyan Tree Practice Dishcloth for a more advanced cable project, and the second is the October KAL Honeycomb pattern which is a good basic cable project to start with.
November/December - Our sixth and final square is the Entrelac Centered Square. The patterns calls for 3 different colors, but you could use only 2 colors if you wanted to.
