2019 Knit Alongs

September - December KAL - Fingerless Mitts

For the first time ever, we are presenting a matching KAL and CAL: Starburst Mitts for Knitters and Sparkler Mitts for Crocheters are the same pattern by the same designer engineered for each type of craft. These are advanced patterns using short rows. Something to challenge yourselves!

For those who want something simpler, for the Knitters we have Easy Fingerless Mitts.

The Starburst Mitts

Knitted flat these mitts use short rows to form a circle around the thumb. The finished mitts measure about 16 cm in circumference (around the wrists) and 18 cm high. (Gauge in garter stitch: 6 stitches and 14 rows/7ridges = 1 inch)

Retro Rogue - Vintage Inspired Shrug

Inspired from a vintage photo, this shawl-collared shrug with short sleeves and all-over ribbing is knit in a chunky yarn. It is knit flat, short seams under the arms and along the sides make for minimal finishing.

 (one size will fit many busts, depending on how open or closed you would like it)

2019 Knit-Along: Sock Workshop

Come one and all to our first workshop of 2019. We will be offering a basic sock workshop for knitting and crochet.

This is an intermediate class. Basic skills needed.

Knit:
Cast on, bind off, Knit, purl, knitting in the round (ie double points, magic loop, or two circulars) (k2tog, picking up stitches, and short rows experience is helpful, but not required)
Crochet:
Chain, SC (inc, dec, and crochet in the round are helpful, but not required)

This class is free for members, and $5 for non-members.

Supplies: yarn (preferably bright colors) and needles or hooks appropriate for that yarn.
