Dresses that fit!

Our bodies are not the same, why should our clothes be?
Picture
I know that not all knerdy knitters are women, but the majority of us are.  And this was too good not to share!

Have you heard of eShakti?  It is a website full of adorable dresses that can all be custom made to your exact measurements and specifications.  Not thrilled about your upper arms, have it made with 3/4 sleeves.  Want to show off those calves?  Have a maxi made into a mini.

They have dozens of cute designs in a variety of colors and fabrics.

As women, there is nothing standard about the way we are built.  We are all unique and all beautiful.  So why not have some clothes that embrace or individuality?

Dresses run from the mid 30's to 100+, and come in standard sizes 0-36.  All of them are available for customization for only another $9.95.

I only wish I had heard about this sooner.  I would be sporting a new dress for our cruise this weekend.  But there is plenty of time for the holiday party!

The App We've All Been Waiting For

It is finally here!  An app that will make access to Ravelry faster and easier.  It's called Alpaca.

I have it installed and it is great.  The home page shows beautiful hi rez pics of what my friends are up to.  Everything I wish my Instagram feed was.  I have already lost time scrolling and I have a few new projects I can't wait to cast on!
Picture
Available in the Itunes App Store.  There is no word yet on when it will be available on other platforms.
Take Ravelry on the Go.  Keep up with your Ravelry friends with the home feed. Discover new patterns and projects.

Upload project photos, edit notes, and change your project status right from your phone.

Search for Patterns, Projects, Yarn, and Shops. Add them to your queue and start a new project right from the app.

Find your projects, queue, favorite patterns, and friends all in one place.

OK guys!  It is finally here.  The much anticipated Stitches So Cal starts this Thursday in Pasadena.  There are a wide range of fiber-oriented classes, demos, events and vendors just waiting for us!  I always go to Stitches West with my sister in law, it is an annual tradition.  But why drive all the way to San Jose?  I need to make my shopping list and a serious game plan...

Click here for a downloadable program with a list of events and vendors.

San Diego Yarn Crawl

Picture
Attention all knitting, yarn, fiber, weaving and textile art enthusiasts!  Join our neighbors to the south later this month for the 6th annual San Diego Yarn Crawl, September 13-16, 2018! This free, self-paced, self-guided tour of 10 San Diego yarn stores, 2 alpaca farms, and 1 mobile Yarn truck will take crawlers from San Marcos to Chula Vista, Ramona to Encinitas and many points in-between! The adventure runs Thursday through Sunday. The SDYC web site provides a free passport and a google map for you to print out. Special edition cloth tote bags are available at many of the participating locations for a nominal fee during the SDYC.
Prepare for a very unique experience: get back to the “country” environment and experience two actual San Diego county alpaca ranches, one with a mill that makes yarn. Since you will be visiting the “country” environment, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. This is the first west coast yarn crawl to invite local alpaca farms to participate. During your tour you can shop at the 13 locations for a variety of yarns, needles & accessories. Each location will have it’s own special events, designers, etc. Crawlers will print out their own yarn crawl passport from the SDYC website, and have it stamped at every store or farm they visit! All passports bearing 3 venue stamps turned in at any of the 13 locations will be entered to win gift baskets filled with all kinds of yarn and fiber goodies.  In addition, those with passports stamped by all 13 locations will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from each location!  That’s $650 worth of gift certificates going to the grand prize winner!
