March/April 2013 Knit-a-long

This knit-a-long there are two projects to choose from.  Both patterns are pillows and use super chunky yarn.

The first pattern is Cush by Susan B Anderson and is available for free.  This pattern is a great project for beginners who are ready for an introduction to knitting in the round.  You start from the button edge with knit, purl, yarn over, and knit 2 together stitches and seam it together at the other end with the kitchener stitch.

The second pattern is the Herringbone Stitch Pillow by Lion Brand Yarn.  This pattern is free and is listed as a project for an intermediate knitter.  The pillow is knit in 3 pieces and then seamed together.  The front is done in a herringbone stitch pattern and the back two pieces are done in a seed stitch.
If you do not have a Lion Brand Yarn account, just send an email to Sarah Smith, with pillow pattern in the subject line.  You will be emailed a PDF copy of the pattern for this pillow.
