November/December Knit-a-long

This knit-a-long there are two projects to choose from.  Both patterns can be found on Ravelry.

The first pattern is the Gathered Scarf by Maryse Roudier.  This pattern is available for free and is great for a beginner knitter.  The pattern uses knit, purl, knit 2 together, knit into the front and back for stitches and 2 different size needles to create a gathered look.

The second pattern is avaElongated by Jenny Sorensen.  This pattern is free and is a good project for an advanced beginner.  The pattern uses knit, purl, seed stitch, yarn overs, knit 2 together and slip, slip, knit stitches.  It makes a lovely wavy scarf and a traveling pattern.
