Seven tips for taming your stash

With our annual WIPs (works-in-progress), Chains and Stash Exchange party coming up on Monday, Aug. 29, this is the perfect time to revisit your stash to find treasures to contribute and to get a good idea of what you might want to be on the look-out for.

Here are eight tips for stash management:

• Pull out ALL your yarn, wherever it hides, and see what you have. Only a lucky few of us have one place begin enough to hold all of our skeins, cakes and balls. Every once in awhile, you just have to gather it all in one place to see what you have.
• Decide what excites you. That fuzzy, sparkly fun yarn?  That hunky chunky you fell in love with?  That colorful Noro with the green you hate?  Just because you fell in love with it once, doesn't mean you can't get a divorce.  One yarns are one-night stands and some yarns inspire a long love affair. Sort your stash into two piles what you love and what you're ready to leave. What you don't love can come to the stash exchange where someone else might start a love affair with your "exes."
