Stacie and Anastasia did a great job representing our sweet little Guild at the first day of Vogue Knitting Live in Pasadena today. They met many knitters and crocheters from the valley who have been looking for a social club like ours. We hope we will have some new Knerds joining us in the near future!

4/6/2015 0 Comments Saturday Stitches At StarbucksCoffee? Check. Yarn? Check? Knerdy Knitting Buddies? Check!!! Check!!! Check!!!
Saturday Stitches at Starbucks is a great time to meet the Knerdy Knitters when Monday Nights are difficult to get to. Check your email for evites and more information. See you at the next one! 3/30/2015 0 Comments Everything's Coming Up Daisies! The Knerdy Knitters took advantage of having an extra Monday in the month of March to host a workshop tonight. (Any excuse to get together and make stuff, right?!) For tonight's workshop, Anastasia taught us how to make two different granny square patterns in preparation for this summer's Crochet-A-Long Granny Square Blanket. Thank you, Anastasia, for teaching such a wonderful workshop tonight. 3/30/2015 0 Comments LA Yarn Crawl 2015!!Members of the Knerdy Knitters took to the freeways this weekend to celebrate, support, and partake in the LA Yarn Crawl. 4 Days. 29 Stores. Lots and Lots of yarn and fun. As a group we hit 8 Los Angeles area stores on Saturday. Several of our members travelled to many more stores over the weekend. The Knerdy Knitters wish to thank the LA Yarn Crawl Organizing Committee for all of their hard work in making such a fun weekend for Los Angeles yarn arts enthusiasts.
2/23/2015 1 Comment 2015 Calendar is LIVE!!The Knerdy Knitters Calendar of Activities for 2015 is now live on our website. It can be found under the "Projects and Events" tab at the top of the webpage. Stay up to date with all of the great activities in our Guild. We have so many fun things happening and we want you involved in them!
This year's Holiday Party was held at the Burbank Holiday Inn and was a fabulous affair. Thank you so much for all of our members who attended and made the night so memorable. We enjoyed food and drinks, had an amazing fashion show, and shared some great door prizes. Thank you to our officers for putting together such a great celebration for our guild! The Knerdy Members tend to be the life of the party whenever we attend the Weaver's Guild Fiber Festival in Torrance. Once again, we took up the entire front row and let everyone know that we get VERY excited about yarn and yarn arts. There was a raffle (Tammy won some yarn), a fashion show, and lots of great vendors. It's always a fun day and we cannot wait until we can go again next year!
The Knerdy Knitters Guild has a lot to be proud of. Now we have the ribbons to prove it! Our Guild had a great showing at this year's LA County Fair Tapestry Competition. Seven of our members entered multiple finished objects this year and EVERYONE WON RIBBONS! Congratulations to all of the participants and a special Congrats to Stacie Rasmussen for taking home a BEST OF SHOW honor for her "David Tennant Illusion Knit." Excellent work, Everyone! Sarah, Stacie, Adelle, and Lydia had a great time representing the Knerdy Knitters at this year's Stitch & Pitch at Dodger Stadium on Friday, August 22. It was a beautiful night for a ballgame. At least I think there was a ballgame happening. I was too busy talking and knitting. But all of a sudden we would hear cheering and I assume they weren't cheering for my well executed Make1purl. The Dodgers won 6-2 and a great time was had by all. Thank you to the YarnOver Truck for hosting and organizing this year. I hope we participate again next year.
4/28/2014 0 Comments Solvang Retreat Was A Huge SuccessA great time was had by all at our annual Knerdy Knitter's Retreat. This year we chose Solvang, CA as our yarn-rific location. It began with a lovely reception in the Hotel room complete with wine, munchies, and our Retreat Knit-A-Longs. Saturday was absolutely filled with shopping, eating, spinning demonstrations, olive oil tasting, wine tasting, knitting and crocheting, laughing, eating, hot tubbing, eating, a great King's game on the telly, and even more knitting and crocheting. I swear it was a 36 hour day. No way we packed all this into 24! Sunday was a day filled with walking the streets of Solvang and shopping to our hearts' content. A huge thank you to everyone who participated. If you didn't make it out to see us this year you were sincerely missed. |
